Ganduje orders ambitious appointees to resign, Ahead of the 2023 general election, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to any political appointee seeking to contest elective positions to resign.
In a three-paragraph statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, Ganduje ordered that such appointees should leave on or before today.
He said: “All political appointees running for elective offices in the forthcoming 2023 general elections are to resign from their respective positions.
They are given up to today to resign. The directive is pursuance and or compliance to section 84 (12) of the newly amended Electoral Act,” Anwar said in the statement.
