Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP. Ngozi Onadeko fdc has assured residents across the state of maximum security, before, during and after the Eid-il-Fitri celebrations.

Onadeko in a statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer SP. Adewale Osifeso stated that comprehensive security has been put in place to ensure crime-free Eid-il-Fitri celebrations across the state.

A copy of the statement made available to journalists,  the Commissioner of Police, while wishing the entire Workforce and Muslim community happy festivities, wishes to categorically assert that comprehensive security provisions have been emplaced to ensure relative tranquillity during and beyond the long holidays.

In furtherance to the above, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and other Heads of Departments have been mandated to lead, supervise and ensure adequate deployment of personnel to various areas of security throughout the State.

Other adopted measures include; confidence-building intensive patrols around public spaces and critical infrastructures, high visibility policing around recreation and worship centres, coordinated stop and search exercises on highways, convoy patrols with relevant security agencies and extensive surveillance duties.

Also, the Command’s Monitoring Unit and X-squad have been marshalled across the length and breadth of the State to ensure the sanity of the officers and men as they discharge their lawful duties in compliance with all standard operational procedures.
