Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has formally declared his intention to contest for president in 2023 on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Fayemi, who made the declaration on Wednesday in Abuja, promised to ensure youth empowerment when he becomes the president.
He also pledged to “retool the Armed Forces and security agencies”.
He also promised decentralisation for the government to be brought closer to the people.
The Ekiti State Governor assured other aspirants that “I will adhere to the highest standards of decorum and decency.”
The event was attended by many dignitaries including APC Governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, members of the Assembly, former Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof. Modupe Adelabu and. traditional rulers.
