The Nigerian Police Force has said popular Ibadan-based broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat, was arrested in Ibadan in connection with a case of Cyber Bullying under investigation.
Oriyomi’s arrest today by operatives of Force Intelligence Bureau was sequel to his refusal to honour Police invitation severally, which prompted the police to secure a warrant for his arrest.
This was revealed by the Force’s PRO, Muyiwa Adejobi today, in Abuja.
“We are looking into the petition written against him on his violation of the Cyber Crime Act, 2015, and necessary action will be taken to do justice in the matter”, said the Police Chief.
Hamzat, who owns Agidigbo FM, was whisked away to Abuja by Personnels of Federal Intelligence Bureau, an agency under the Nigeria Police Force, on Thursday morning in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
