Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo state High Court  Ibadan, has dismissed a case filed by Rauf Olaniyan, the deputy governor, challenging the move to remove him from office by the state House of Assembly .

The House of Assembly in the state commenced an impeachment move against Olaniyan on account of alleged misconduct.

Justice Ladiran Akintola held that the lawmakers and all the defendants did not err on the impeachment process.

According to Akintola, the originating summons filed by the claimant was purely a legislative procedure and not judicial in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

However, the State Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan has appealed the judgement dismissing his suit against the plan of the Oyo State House of Assembly to begin an impeachment process against him.

Counsel to Olaniyan, Chief Afolabi Fashanu confirmed the development on Thursday.

The state lawmakers had levelled five allegations against the state Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan.
