The police in Delta State said they rescued three expectant women from a baby factory in Obodogba community in Okpanam near Asaba, the state capital.
Two men allegedly engaged to impregnate the women were arrested, the police said.
In a statement, spokesman Bright Edafe identified the suspects as Promise Ejogu, 25, and Aruna Suleiman, 29.
Edafe said one of the suspects is a relative of the ring leader of the syndicate now on the run.
He added that the suspects were in custody while efforts are on to arrest other members of the syndicate.
