A fully loaded tanker on Thursday night wreaked havoc at Apata junction (opposite Oando filling station), along Ibadan/Abeokuta road.

In the meantime, Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has given traffic advisory to the motoring public to use alternative routes in the interim pending when safety and normalcy is returned.
This was contained in a statement released by the Executive Chairman of the Authority, Dr. Akin Fagbemi.
According to the bulleting, Dr. Fagbemi advised: “Motorists moving inward Apata from Ring road/Aleshinloye/Dugbe could navigate via BCJ junction to link the Abeokuta Expressway at Ahmaddiya Mosque Junction, Apata. Another alternative is for those coming from the aforementioned routes to ply the Akala Expressway to link Bembo Area, Apata”, he said.
He added that men and officers of the Authority has been deployed immediately to the accident scene to maintain law and order while distress calls has been made to the fire fighting authorities.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filling this report, the intensity of the inferno has been largely subdued and normalcy gradually being restored. No human casualty has been recorded but goods worth several millions of naira destroyed.
