Lagos state government is set to expand it’s partnerships with AFDB, AFC, Africa50, AfreximBank, Development Bank of South Africa, European Investment Bank, Trade and Development Bank, etc and amplifying it’s commitment to sustainable development.

This was made known by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu at Africa Investment Forum 2023 in Marrakech, organized by African Development Bank.

At the forum Governor Sanwo Olu, shared how Lagos has responded to shocks and how the state will accelerate post-pandemic recovery.’

“I shared strategic initiatives to decongest Lagos by creating new cities and enabling the workforce to live outside the metropolis while contributing to our economic powerhouse.”

“Creativity is key in managing population growth; prioritizing livability, resilience, and economic development to build a thriving Lagos.”

“Conscious of technology, we engage our youth and drive innovation. The Cowry Card payment system is an example, making the city more functional and connected.”

“We welcome investment in new areas of transport infrastructure, especially on the rail lines we are building to commute millions daily. The numbers are real, and it will speak to returns on investment. Additionally, we invite investment in our waterways, where significant backbone infrastructure has been delivered.”

“Very excited about the partnerships arising from this event, as we continue to build a better Lagos.”
