The state is big with human activities and a busy place, as a result of this, untidiness are expected variables in such a place.
Knowing the importance of keeping these variables in check, the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu deem it fit to appoint a versatile, attentive and assertive leader as commissioner to man the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, in person of Tokunbo Wahab.
Since he has assumed the office as the state commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, he commenced an expertise work with a committed mindset for a clean and polished Lagos.
Tokunbo Wahab started to do this, by clearing out Shanties and making drainage free from waste in the state with a distinct establishment of progressive man’s ideal, a blissful dream and a cleaner Lagos.
The commissioner has been working round the clock with lots of inspections and engagement with critical stakeholders in the state, such includes his checkup of the Lekki Water channels, stakeholder’s meeting with owners of properties encroaching on System 44A drainage channel ( Lekki County), removal of illegal structures that contravene the state law, engagement with religious leaders to achieve a Noiseless Lagos for a Healthy Citizenry, keeping schools environment from illegal trading activities amongst other achievements that place the State’s environmental Outlook into another realm.
It is also a noticeable achievement through the indefatigable commissioner, by making sure that Lagos State Water Corporation restored water to Baruwa-Abesan community through the inauguration of Mosan-Okunola (2MGD) Waterworks.
Residents express gratitude to the state government for the intervention after 25 years of water scarcity in the community.
With all these insights, it is evident that Tokunbo Wahab will not relent in his effort to revolutionise Lagos state environmental condition.
