It was a bright and beautiful Friday in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State, as the sun filtered softly through the clouds, residents moved about in anticipation of the weekly Jumu’ah prayers. However, this Friday stood out with an atmosphere of gratitude and reflection.
Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, joined worshippers at the council’s central mosque to offer a special thanksgiving prayer. The occasion marked his appreciation for the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections and his successful bid for a second term ticket.
Clad in a pristine white jalabiya, matching cap, and shoes, the chairman was accompanied by his aides to observe the Jumu’ah service. With a heart full of gratitude, he offered substantial donations towards the development of the mosque and gifted cash to the Imam who offered prayers for continued peace and progress in Oshodi-Isolo, as well as prayers for the repose of his late mother.
In his closing remarks and prayers, the Chief Imam of the mosque, Alhaji Mustapha, offered special supplications for the chairman’s success in office, peace across the local government, and blessings upon the chairman’s late mother. Prayers were also extended to council executives, staff, and the general public.
