The Lagos State Government has sealed Dowen College, a school located in Lekki Phase 1, for allegedly violating waste management regulations.

Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, announced the enforcement action on Wednesday in a post on his official X handle.

Wahab wrote: “Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial in collaboration with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority #Lawma_gov sealed up Dowen College in Lekki over indiscriminate waste disposal.”

The enforcement action followed a post by the Commissioner on Tuesday.

Wahab’s post included a video of sanitation corps officials apprehending a man for allegedly violating waste disposal regulations.

In the video, the man identified himself as an employee of Dowen College after being questioned.

This admission led the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps to trace the offense back to the school, resulting in its sealing.
