President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected back this evening after leading the country’s delegation to the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in the United Arab Emirates where Nigeria secured fresh economic and climate-focused commitments.

During his visit, Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE, aimed at deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.

In his address at the summit, President Tinubu announced that Nigeria will host a joint Nigeria-UAE INVESTOPIA in Lagos in February, a platform designed to attract global investors and strengthen international confidence in Nigeria’s reform agenda.

Tinubu also stated that Nigeria plans to mobilize up to $30 billion annually to finance energy transition and expand national electricity access.
