The newly appointed Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu has been sworn in.

The new IGP took the oath of office before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting this Wednesday.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Olatunji Disu as the 23rd IGP after the resignation of his predecessor, Kayode Egbetokun, last week.

The 59-year-old IGP from Lagos state is popular for leading the first Nigerian Police contingent to the AU peacekeeping mission in Sudan in 2005 and the then Rapid Response squad in Lagos, among others.

President Tinubu had at the decoration, expressed confidence in the ability of the new Police chief to lead a rejuvenated force in contributing to peace and stability in the country.

The new IGP says he is ready to deliver on his new mandate by motivating his personnel for the course of securing the nation.

The president also inaugurated six commissioners of revenue mobilisation allocation and fiscal commission and two Federal civil service commission.
