The Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has disclosed that five individuals were apprehended earlier today by the anti-open defecation enforcement team at different locations across Lagos Island for violating environmental sanitation laws.
According to the commissioner, the arrests were made during routine monitoring operations aimed at maintaining cleanliness and public hygiene within the area.
Those arrested include Felix, Quad Kareem, Daniel Victor Okon, Olamide Sodiq, and Henry Eyen. Felix, Daniel Victor Okon, Olamide Sodiq, and Henry Eyen were apprehended at Inner Marina, while Quad Kareem was arrested at Ebute Ero.
Wahab reiterated the importance of using designated public toilets and warned residents and visitors to desist from open defecation, noting that enforcement operations will continue across Lagos to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment.
