President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu were officially received by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
The historic reception marks the formal start of the two-day State Visit — the first by a Nigerian leader to the United Kingdom in 37 years.
Their Majesties warmly welcomed the Nigerian presidential couple upon arrival at the historic royal residence, where they will be hosted throughout the visit.
The programme includes a private audience, viewing of a special exhibition from the Royal Collection featuring items related to Nigeria, and meetings with organisations involved in interfaith dialogue.
King and Queen will later host a grand State Banquet in honour of President Tinubu and the First Lady.
The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral ties between Nigeria and the UK in areas such as trade, investment, security, defence, and cultural cooperation.
