Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday hosted a reception at the Lagos State House, Marina, in honour of student-athletes who delivered a strong performance at the 2026 World School Games Olympia in Doha, Qatar.
The athletes, drawn from six Lagos schools, competed across athletics, football, and swimming in the U-11, U-13, and U-15 categories, securing multiple medals and top leaderboard positions. Saint Saviour’s School finished first in the U-11 category, while Grange School placed second in the U-13 and third in the U-15 divisions.
Sanwo-Olu presented plaques to the athletes and commended their discipline and resilience, describing their achievements as a proud moment for the state.
The event also recognised Team Lagos athletes who excelled at the African Youth Games in Angola, highlighting continued success in youth sports development.
