The Lagos State Government has announced partial road closures across key parts of the city to facilitate the commissioning of major infrastructure projects on April 8 and 9, 2026.

According to the advisory, traffic will be affected on April 8 between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm during the commissioning of the Opebi–Mende Link Bridge, with disruptions expected around Opebi, Allen, Ikeja, and Ojota corridors.

On April 9, movement will be impacted in two phases. The commissioning of the Tolu Schools Complex, scheduled for 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, will affect traffic around Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle. A separate event later in the day, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, is expected to cause delays within the Victoria Island axis, including areas around Eko Hotel.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will deploy officers to manage traffic and assist motorists across affected routes.

Authorities urged road users to cooperate with traffic officials and adhere to directives to ensure smooth movement during the period.
