The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has launched Operation “Kosaye” (No Chance) in Lagos and Ogun States to rid both states of kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes.
The operation, supported by the state governments through logistics, targets forests, border communities, and criminal hideouts.
Speaking at the Ogun State Police Training School in Iperu, Commissioners of Police Bode Ojajuni (Ogun) and Tijani Fatai (Lagos) reported early successes, including the rescue of five kidnapped victims and the neutralisation of five kidnappers, with four others arrested.
The CPs stated that all identified forests and bushes across both states have been cleared, with no residents currently held captive. Several criminal hideouts have also been dismantled.
They urged the public to remain calm and provide credible information to security agencies.
