Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has announced disciplinary action against an officer of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps following a viral video allegedly showing the officer accepting a bribe from a lawbreaker.

Wahab said the officer has been issued a query, and a Personnel Management Board (PMB) will be constituted to investigate the matter in line with the Lagos State Civil Service Rules and Regulations.

The commissioner stressed that such conduct is unacceptable and contrary to the agency’s ethics and values, reaffirming the state government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and misconduct in the public service.

He added that any officer found culpable would face appropriate disciplinary measures, and warned residents that offering bribes is also an offence.

Wahab urged Lagosians to comply with the law and avoid attempts to compromise enforcement officers, saying that collective commitment to integrity is essential for building public trust and accountability.
