Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Directorate, have arrested 55 suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation at a hotel in Ogun State.
The raid was carried out on Saturday, July 6, at K Hotel in the Itori area of Ewekoro Local Government, following what the commission described as “credible and actionable intelligence” on the suspects’ alleged involvement in cybercrime.
Items recovered during the operation include six exotic vehicles, 89 unclaimed mobile phones, several laptops, two locally made pistols, a motorcycle, and multiple incriminating documents.
The suspects, who have all provided useful information to investigators, will be charged to court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
