The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has directed the re-arrest of five foreign nationals working at Royal Castle Ceramics in Ogun State.
According to the Service, the individuals were initially detained under the provisions of the Immigration Act and were slated for deportation. They include Zhang Damou (46), Qian Jin (48), Tang Pan (41), Lin Jianfeng (52), and Guo Zhengheng (40), who were reportedly engaged in various roles at the company.
The NIS, through an internal memo, explained that the action was based on infractions of sections 36, 38, 44, 56, and 105 of the Immigration Act 2015.
It further stated that the directive followed standard legal procedures aimed at ensuring compliance with Nigeria’s immigration regulations.
The Ministry of Interior has also announced a review of expatriate quotas and permits for Royal Castle Ceramics and other similar firms to strengthen regulatory oversight.
Officials said the ongoing exercise is part of broader efforts to improve enforcement and transparency within the country’s immigration system.
