Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the daily lives of residents despite prevailing economic challenges, as Lagos ushered in the New Year 2026.

In a message shared on his official Instagram page, the governor described Lagos as a city defined by grit, hope, and determination, noting that traders, workers, and young people across the state continue to shoulder its progress with courage. He said their daily efforts do not go unnoticed.

Sanwo-Olu stressed that governance is ultimately about people, ensuring that their hard work counts and that future generations enjoy better opportunities. He noted that 2026 will demand patience, cooperation, honesty, and the courage to confront areas that are not working.

Acknowledging the economic strain on many households, the governor said the challenges are real but not permanent, adding that his administration is focused on fixing the foundations to secure a stronger future for the next generation.
