Kayode Adeniyi, driver of the world boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, has been arrested and is facing prosecution for reckless driving following a crash on December 29, 2025, that killed two people, including Joshua’s strength coach Sina Ghami and trainer Latif Ayodele.
The accident occurred when the Lexus SUV carrying Joshua collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Adeniyi, a member of Joshua’s Nigerian logistics team, was discharged from hospital on New Year’s Eve and questioned by police. He may face charges for excessive speed and wrongful overtaking, serious offenses under Nigerian law.
Joshua, who sustained minor injuries, has been discharged and is recovering at home.
