Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primaries for Badagry Federal Constituency, reaffirming his strong political influence within the constituency and the ruling party.
The keenly contested primary election, which attracted party delegates, stakeholders, and supporters from across the constituency, saw Whingan poll the highest number of votes to secure the APC ticket ahead of other aspirants. His victory officially positions him as the party’s flag bearer for the forthcoming general elections.
The atmosphere at the venue was charged with excitement as supporters celebrated the outcome shortly after the results were announced.
Party faithful described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the confidence delegates have in Whingan’s leadership and representation at the National Assembly.
Whingan, who currently represents Badagry Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, is seeking re-election for another term.
Since assuming office, he has been associated with several constituency projects and legislative interventions aimed at improving infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, and economic development within Badagry and surrounding communities.
Speaking after the exercise, the lawmaker expressed appreciation to delegates and party leaders for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to continue delivering quality representation and to work towards the continued growth and development of the constituency.
Political observers believe the outcome of the APC primary has further strengthened the party’s preparations ahead of the general elections, with Whingan expected to face candidates from other political parties in what is anticipated to be a closely watched contest in Badagry Federal Constituency.
