The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, recorded a landslide victory at the polling unit of Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele during Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.

According to Polling Officer Elizabeth Oregbemeh, Oyebanji polled 164 votes at the unit, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, scored eight votes. The Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate, Ayodeji Ojo, came third with one vote.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele earlier commended the peaceful conduct of the election, praising the high voter turnout across the state and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely deployment of materials and officials across all 16 local government areas.

INEC data indicated that of 1,059,360 registered voters in the state, 1,028,929 collected their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the election.
