Aleksandar Mitrovic has been slapped with an eight-match ban by the Football Association after pushing referee Chris Kavanagh in their FA Cup loss to Manchester United.

The Fulham striker had been charged with violent and improper conduct by the FA after a straight red card for pushing referee Chris Kavanagh during Sunday’s 3-1 FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester United.

The Football Association released a statement at the time that its standard punishment for the Serbian striker’s sending off was clearly insufficient.

Fulham manager, Marco Silva, has since apologized for his and Mitrovic’s actions in that game.
