An early morning fire outbreak has razed shops under Apongbon bridge in Lagos.

However, motorists have been urged to ply another route following the fire with gutted some vehicles under the bridge.

The incident happened around 7am on Wednesday and no life was lost in the incident.

The bridge has been blocked to prevent loss of lives and properties.

The bridge has been badly damaged due to the fire outbreak and the cause of the fire is yet unknown.

Hence, motorists were urged to use alternative routes.

Traffic from Eko bridge has been re-routed to Ebute-Ero to link inner marina. Men of fire service and other security agencies are still on the ground. Therefore, CMS bridge and Eko bridge inward/outward Apongbon is close to traffic at the moment,” Lagos State Traffic Management Agency tweeted.
