Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has been elected as the Peoples Democratic Party’s flagbearer for the 2023 presidential election.
Atiku who was the party Presidential candidate in 2019 received the highest number of votes in the exercise which was held in Abuja on Saturday.
He scored 371 votes, while his closest rival, Nyesom Wike polled 237 votes.
Other aspirants scores are: Tari Diana Oliver, 1 vote; Sam Ohuabunwa, 1 vote; Anyim Pius Anyim, 14 votes; Udon Emmanuel, 38 votes; Bala Mohammed, 20 votes and Bukola Saraki scored 70 votes.
Atiku’s position was boosted by last minutes withdrawal from the race by Sokoto state Governor, Aminu Tambuwal.
