The All Progressives Congress (APC) has told the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to resolve its internal leadership crisis rather than blame the ruling party and the judiciary over recent court decisions.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in a statement, said the party has no role in the legal dispute that led to the removal of the David Mark-led ADC leadership by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
He said the crisis arose from a legal challenge instituted by some ADC national officers against the party’s leadership, accusing David Mark and his associates of taking over the party in violation of its internal democracy and the rule of law.
Morka described the court’s decision as a demonstration of the independence of the judiciary, urging the ADC to exercise its constitutional right of appeal if dissatisfied with the judgment.
He also faulted the ADC for what he described as selective respect for court decisions, accusing the party of praising the judiciary when rulings favour it and attacking it when decisions go against its interests.
The APC spokesperson maintained that the Tinubu administration remains committed to upholding the rule of law, protecting democratic institutions and delivering good governance to Nigerians.11
