Following a 24-hour vacation notice issued to illegal ram traders occupying the road median at Alaba Rago, joint operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) and the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) have commenced a thorough cleanup of the area.

The enforcement operation, which began shortly after the notice expired, aims to restore order and improve sanitation along the busy stretch.

According to a statement on the X handle of the Lagos Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Monday, June 2.

The statement reads: “Following a 24-hours vacation notice given to illegal traders selling rams on the road median at Alaba Rago, the joint operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial and the Lagos Waste Management Agency #Lawma_gov commenced the cleanup of the entire road median.

“This exercise will be followed by a standby monitoring and enforcement team to ensure that sanity is restored to the area.”
