The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to accountability by strengthening the Police Complaints Response Unit (CRU) as a channel for reporting misconduct and unprofessional conduct by officers.
Speaking during an emergency conference with senior police officers and journalists at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the IGP said the CRU remains fully operational 24 hours a day to handle reports of extortion, abuse of office, human rights violations, and other misconduct.
Disu stressed that accountability remains central to ongoing police reforms, adding that all legitimate complaints from members of the public would be taken seriously.

He also urged Nigerians to use the platform responsibly, describing public cooperation as essential to building a more transparent and people-focused police force.
