The Governor of Lagos State,Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday received the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lagos, Mr. Michel Deelen, on a farewell visit as he concludes his diplomatic assignment in Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu described the meeting as an opportunity to reflect on the strong and productive relationship that has been built between Lagos State and the Netherlands over the years.
He expressed appreciation to Mr. Deelen for his support and partnership throughout his tenure.
Both parties discussed areas of shared interest, including the development of Lagos waterways, the Omi Eko project, and ongoing regeneration and relocation efforts in Okobaba.
The Governor noted that these collaborations align with Lagos State’s broader infrastructure and urban renewal agenda.
Mr. Deelen, in turn, acknowledged Lagos State’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for investors and strengthening international cooperation.
The Governor thanked the outgoing Consul General for his service and contributions to deepening Lagos–Netherlands relations, and wished him success in his next diplomatic posting.
