Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering the state’s youth.

Speaking at the 2025 International Youth Day Summit organized by the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, the governor stated that the future of Lagos rests with its young people.

He highlighted several government initiatives under the THEMES+ agenda aimed at creating opportunities for youth to “lead, innovate, and thrive.”

These include the Amplifier Business Clinic and Pitch Contest, which offers mentorship, training, and financial assistance, as well as the Lagos State Youth Study Tour to Queen’s University in Canada, which provides international exposure.

In a post via the official X handle of the Governor, Sanwo-Olu celebrated the creativity, resilience, and drive of Lagos youth, calling them “the heartbeat of Lagos” and a vital force in building a greater state.

The statement reads: “Today, at the 2025 International Youth Day Summit organised by the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, I reminded our young people that our future lives in them. Our administration’s commitment to our youth is clear.

“We will continue creating spaces, programmes, and opportunities that empower you to lead, innovate, and thrive. Through the THEMES+ agenda, we have placed youth empowerment and social inclusion at the centre of our work.

“From initiatives like the Amplifier Business Clinic and Pitch Contest, which provide mentorship, training, and financial support, to international exposure programmes such as the Lagos State Youth Study Tour to Queen’s University in Canada, we are opening doors for you to learn, grow, and contribute.

“Today, I celebrate our young people. I celebrate your creativity, resilience, and drive. You are the heartbeat of Lagos. Lagos thrives because of you, and together we will keep building a greater Lagos.”
