The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria has invited the Acting High Commissioner of South Africa to a meeting at its Abuja headquarters to address rising concerns about the treatment of Nigerian citizens and recent developments affecting bilateral relations.
The meeting aims to formally express the Nigerian Government’s concern about recent events that could strain the long-standing cordial relationship between Nigeria and South Africa.
Key discussions will centre on ongoing demonstrations in South Africa and reported cases of mistreatment of Nigerians, including attacks on their businesses.
The Ministry noted growing dissatisfaction among Nigerians about the situation and emphasised the need for constructive dialogue to ensure the safety and protection of its citizens abroad.
