Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has made history by winning in all 16 local government areas of Ekiti State in the governorship election.

The Returning Officer, Adenike Oladiji, announced the results, confirming Oyebanji’s landslide victory over his closest challengers, Wole Oluyede of the PDP and Dare Bejide of the ADC.

With this resounding win, Oyebanji becomes the first sitting governor in Ekiti State’s history to secure re-election, effectively breaking the long-standing succession jinx that had prevented governors from winning consecutive terms since the state was created in 1996.

The governor also performed impressively in the strongholds of his opponents, securing victory in Ikere (Oluyede’s home LGA) and Ekiti Southwest (Bejide’s base).

His highest votes came from Ado LGA with 38,026 votes.

This decisive victory marks a major milestone for Oyebanji and the APC in Ekiti State.
