Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has presented compensation cheques to 150 beneficiaries whose land was acquired by the state government for the overriding public interest.
The presentation, attended by stakeholders, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fairness, accountability, and the protection of residents’ interests affected by development projects.
Sanwo-Olu said that while development may require difficult decisions, citizens who sacrifice their properties for public projects must be adequately compensated. He added that the gesture reflects the government’s promise to ensure inclusive growth as Lagos continues to expand.
